Tender description

The London Borough of Newham is planning a direct award of contract to Newham Health Collaborative (NHC or the ‘GP Federation’) to provide 3 key public health services via general practitioners (GPs) in Newham. GPs are currently the only providers in the market who are able to meet the requirements of the service specification. The initial proposed contract length is 3 years, with the option to extend on an annual basis for up to 2 further years (“3+1+1”). The services included are: — “Work Package 1”: NHS Health Checks (NHSHC) to help identify early stage diabetes and cardiovascular disease (CVD) among residents aged 40-74, — “Work Package 2”: GP Sexual Health services including STI screening (15-24 year olds) and long-acting reversible contraception (LARC), — “Work Package 3”: HIV screening for 16-64 year olds as part of New Patient Registrations. Following the publication of this VEAT notice and a 10-day standstill period, a direct award to Newham Health Collaborative (NHC) will be carried out. NHC will be contracted to provide 3 key public health services via GPs in Newham up to a maximum value of 4 250 000 GBP over the 3+1+1 contract. NHC is the pan-Newham GP federation representing all the GP practices in the borough. Established as a limited company in 2016, NHC is wholly owned by their 51 GP practice members. Each practice owns shares in relation to their patient list size.
