SPS1141 Pilot study handrails Union Chain Bridge

Tender description

Northumberland County Council is looking to appoint a Contractor for Pilot study into handrail at Union Chain Bridge to the Heritage Lottery Funded 'Union Chain Bridge: crossing borders, inspiring communities' project. The project involves a complex range of stakeholders - it is being undertaken jointly between Northumberland and Scottish Borders Councils with Woodhorn Charitable Trust (WCT) providing operational support - and a range of consultancies. Northumberland County Council in partnership with Scottish Borders Council are planning major structural repairs to the bridge, which includes wrought and cast-iron components as well as the masonry tower / anchorages and the environs. The Contractor will be required to review the provided drawings, specifications and methodologies from the Contracting Authority and provide guidance on the feasibility of construction and to provide priced list for each item of work (Schedule 2) Further details of the Contracting Authority’s requirements under the contract and other relevant information are given in ITT Schedule 2 ‘Contract’ Keywords: Grade 2 listed bridge handrails
