Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC) are inviting bids from licensed waste treatment provider(s) who can: — process segregated materials from its domestic kerbside collected recyclable waste streams that have been collected throughout the Borough of Rotherham, and — accept multiple direct deliveries on a daily basis from its refuse collection vehicles. The scope of the services includes receiving, recording, handling, treatment and disposal of Contract Waste delivered from Authorised vehicles of the Council or any agents acting on their behalf. A delivery site must be provided for acceptance of material from the councils refuse collection vehicles. This site must be within the municipal borough of Rotherham MBC or within a 4,5 miles (7,24 km) radius of the Council’s offices at Riverside House, Main Street, Rotherham, S60 1QY. Glass, metal, textiles and plastics will comprise of the following waste streams: — Glass bottles and jars: e.g. wine and beer bottles; jam and pickle jars, perfume bottles, — Steel or Aluminium tins or cans: e.g. baked beans, soft drinks, chocolates, biscuits, deodorant aerosols, aluminium foil e.g. pie and takeaway cases; foil wraps, — Textiles (Will be bagged separately and collected in an individual compartment of the RCV): e.g. clothing, towels, sheets, quilt covers (not quilts), pillowcases (not pillows), curtains, shoes in pairs, — Plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays, — Non-conforming waste up to 10 %. The total anticipated spend expected for Lot 1 is in the region of 400 000 GBP — 600 000 GBP per annum. The basis for this estimate is previous years’ experience and actual volumes. However these figures are indicative and do not carry any guarantee of value or volume of business over the contract term. Actual future needs may vary up or down. Cardboard and Paper, will comprise of the following waste streams: — mixed domestic cardboard, — mixed domestic paper (news and pamphlets), — non-conforming waste up to 5 %. The total anticipated income expected from Lot 2 is in the region of 200 000 GBP — 400 000 GBP per annum. The basis for this estimate is previous years’ experience and actual volumes. However these figures are indicative and do not carry any guarantee of value or volume of business over the contract term. Actual future needs may vary up or down.
