Tender description

The requirement will be for a comprehensive camera maintenance and repair service to be delivered to the United Utilities customer catchment area. The optimal service period should be defined by the supplying company (it is assumed to be annual). Fix on fail services will be raised by the customer as required. Interested parties are requested to provide information on how your Company could provide part or all of the services required. The scope of this requirement may include but is not limited to the following: — preventative maintenance and servicing of IPEK camera equipment, — unplanned / reactive ‘fix-on-fail’ repair of camera equipment as required, — reporting, working to defined SLAs, attendance of regular meetings with the customer at various sites. Attached is a list of the IPEK equipment that is on each of the 76 resolution vehicles, along with some photographs of the vehicles themselves. Background. United Utilities (UU) is the UK's largest listed water company. Through its subsidiary, United Utilities Water Limited, it manages the regulated water and wastewater network in the North West of England, providing services to around 7 000 000 people and businesses. United Utilities deliver around 1,700 millions litres of safe clean drinking water to customers every day through around 40 000 km of water pipes. UU’s vision is to be the best UK water and wastewater company, providing great service to our customers. Service Requirement – Preventative and reactive maintenance of camera equipment. The scope is for the preventative and reactive maintenance of IPEK camera equipment installed on the company’s fleet of Mercedes Atego HGV ‘resolution vehicles’. The company operates a fleet of 76 resolution vehicles. These vehicles support the resolution of reactive incidents and jobs that are raised as a result of blockages and other wastewater network incidents. These incidents typically require the use of jetting and suction equipment, along with cameras and their associated peripherals to diagnose and resolve issues on the wastewater network as they arise and are reported to the company. Regular preventative maintenance of the camera equipment should result in optimal working of the units, conservation of the life span of the equipment and a reduction in the amount of fix-on-fail instances. Inevitably there will be a requirement for reactive (fix-on-fail) maintenance irrespective of a fully implemented preventative maintenance schedule. The purpose of this PIN is to understand the capability and capacity of the camera repair and maintenance market. This information will then be used to help determine United Utilities overall approach and any future strategy in relation to procurement of camera repair services to help support the wastewater network.
