Tender description
SCC are seeking a partner to deliver the management of our EUC service and manage a rolling refresh of its EUC estate. This requires a significant change to the deployment model and the underlying technology as the Council seeks to significantly improve the end user experience of IT. The scope of the works is significant and includes but is not limited to: • Replacement of all current windows 7 devices with Windows 10 devices over an anticipated 4 year rolling refresh period, with options to speed this up or front load the refresh if required. • Development of an appropriate Win 10 Configuration to enable us to exploit Microsoft Technologies including Office 365, Bit Locker Encryption, AutoVPN, Skype for Business and Enterprise Mobile Manager. • Development of a secure but flexible model based on securing data held on a device and removing the constraints and overhead associated with management by group policy and profiles. • Delivery of a Business As Usual (BAU) End User Computing service including configuration and imaging (if appropriate), deployment service, patching, asset management and retirement services include secure data disposal, support and help desk services. • Management of devices via MDM with no or minimal use of imaging and the potential to exploit technologies such as Microsoft Auto Enrol. • The service provider is required to supply the replacement / refresh devices as part of the managed service under a lease type arrangement as allowed by the scope of CCS Framework RM3804 (Lot 3a) and not a separate procurement exercise. Furthermore, Sheffield City Council requires the option of ownership of devices at end of contract term and perhaps end of the device life. • Full details of the requirements are included in the appended/uploaded document, titled “3. RFP for Managed EUC Services for Sheffield City Council RM3804” and the associated “4. Marking Scheme and Weightings - EUC”. Keywords: End User Computing, Device Management, Hardware and software asset management, hardware software acquisition management disposal proposals licensing models, tracking managing financial licensing contractual aspects of IT assets through their life cycle
