Tender description

Contract for the provision of: Lot 1 — Highway Maintenance and Minor Highway Improvement Works, Lot 2 — Street Lighting and Minor Improvement Works. The Highway and Street Lighting Contract (in two lots) will be the prime Term Contract to be let by the Council for the provision of these services/works on the Public Highway. The Council, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to place works in these categories outside the Contract through individually tendered contracts for works packages in excess of 500 000 GBP in value. However the scope of works cannot be pre-determined and no undertaking will be given regarding volume or overall value of works. Contract will be let in two Lots as highlighted above. Tenderers should note that the Council shall request a discount (associated with economies of scale) if a Tenderer is awarded both Lots. For the sake of clarity, the Highway and Street Lighting Contractor(s) must accept each and every Works Order placed by the Council, to any value. This Lot shall comprise highway works but not limited to: Highway surface maintenance and construction repairs to roads, footways and cycleway ranging from small patching repairs to machine surfacing of carriageways. Surface dressing and specialist road surface treatments. New build highway projects (including public realm) varying in type from junction improvements, civil works for traffic signal installations, mini/small roundabouts, traffic calming measures including islands, bus stop facilities, footway construction, dropped crossings to footway and other related works/services. Bridge repair works, waterproofing, parapets/barriers and expansion joints. Associated works in the areas of: — Site Clearance, — Earthworks, — Guardrails and Safety Fences, — Fencing, — Drainage and ducting, — Sustainable drainage, — Kerbing, — Non-illuminated traffic signs, — Structural concrete, — Brickwork, — Verges and landscaping, — Accommodation works, — Painting and corrosion protection, — Road Markings. Haringey Council are currently exploring more efficient ways of providing their Reactive Maintenance Service (value approx. 500 000 GBP per annum) and that allowance should be made for these works to be omitted from the overall volume at any time after the first year of the contract. This lot shall comprise Street Lighting works but not limited to: Street lighting maintenance and improvement including wall mounted units and catenary Maintenance and improvement to illuminated traffic signs and other street furniture equipment including, Feeder pillars, Illuminated traffic sign, Illuminated traffic bollards, Belisha beacons, Vehicle actuated signs and other electrical equipment. Electrical cable installations/repairs and all works associated with lighting and traffic signs. Full detail of service/works requirements can be found in the tender documentation.
