Wylye House Roof Waterproofing

Wylye House (Block 56) is a three storey residential block for the hospital staff which has a flat roof covered by bituminous waterproofing membrane. The existing water proofing system has reached towards the end of its useful life and needs to be recovered with new waterproofing membrane. Bauder have visited site and taken core sample from the roof and produced a specification for the new roofing work. The internal access hatch to the roof is over the stair case shaft and is dangerous and not so easy for accessing the roof. As part of this work, a new roof access hatch is to be created. The plasterboard ceiling which has been Artexed has been identified to contain Asbestos. A specialist contractor will be cutting the plasterboard ceiling in the location of the new roof access hatch. The remainder of the work to form the roof access hatch is to be carried out by the roofing contractor.
