Tender description
The Trust provides health services at 2 hospitals in North West London: Hillingdon and Mount Vernon. Hillingdon Hospital offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency and day surgery services. Services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics. The Trust provides clinical services to over half a million patients a year. The Trust is seeking to procure a supplier to provide a waste disposal and incinerator operation service at Hillingdon Hospital, where the incinerator is situated. This opportunity is for a supplier to lease the incinerator plant and premise from the Trust to dispose of the Trust's clinical and non-clinical waste products. The supplier can utilise the plant and premise to service their own third-party clients. In return, the supplier will be required to provide the Trust with steam generated from the incineration process free of charge. The Trust is seeking to procure a supplier to provide them with waste disposal and incinerator operation services. The Trust is seeking to procure under their existing provision in which: 1) A lease agreement is in place for the Trust to receive rental income from the supplier for the incinerator plant and premises; 2) An operations agreement is in place for the Trust to pay the supplier a fee for the cost of clinical and non-clinical/domestic waste collected from both Trust hospital sites and any other site where the Trust is responsible for the disposal of waste; 3) The supplier/incinerator generates steam/heat from the incineration process for the Trust, free of charge the supplier can utilise the plant and premise to service their own third-party clients. It is envisaged that the contract will be for a 10 year period with break clauses. The Trust is seeking to establish the level of market interest on the proposed procurement.
