Medical Researchers at the University of Southampton are about to embark upon a research project involving a prospective clinical trial of patients with eye disease and is seeking to purchase three adaptive optics retinal cameras (adaptive optics scanning laser ophthalmoscopes), which must be CE marked. The project specifically requires mirrored fundus cameras capable of imaging photoreceptors as single cells as well as the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) mosaic. A resolution of 1,6 μm with a 4º × 4º field of view and an illumination wavelength of 850 nm is suggested as an example. The University is keen to gauge capability and interest from the market to assist in our decision making. Interested parties are invited to complete and return a Soft Market Testing Questionnaire. The deadline for the receipt of completed Soft Market Testing Questionnaire is 12:00 noon local time 5.9.2018. The project specifically requires mirrored fundus cameras capable of imaging photoreceptors as single cells as well as the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) mosaic. A resolution of 1,6 μm with a 4º × 4º field of view and an illumination wavelength of 850 nm is suggested as an example. The researchers are also seeking to easily align images taken of the same patient over time (patients attending different visits over several months). Imaging acquisition software, a PC, instrument table and chinrest are to be included. The three identical cameras are to be supplied and installed in 3 separate clinical trial site locations within Europe: University Hospital Southampton, Southampton, UK, Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK and University Hospital Basel, Basel, Switzerland. Standardisation must be observed across all sites. A five year warranty, shipping (inco terms DDP), installation and on-site training costs will be expected at each site should be included. The University is keen to gauge capability and interest from the market to assist in our decision making. Interested parties are invited to complete and return a Soft Market Testing Questionnaire, which also contains further details on the description of the University's requirement. The deadline for the receipt of completed Soft Market Testing Questionnaire is 12:00 noon local time 5.9.2018.
