One of the objectives of the health and social care transformation plan is to sustain the nursing home market in Rochdale Borough. There is a gap in the adult care market for dementia nursing care generally and specifically to meet the needs of people with dementia and challenging behaviour. The Council has identified a unique opportunity to develop a 12 month pilot consisting of a dementia challenging behaviour unit and a dementia nursing unit.
