Tender description

EirGrid Interconnector Designated Activity Company (EIDAC) intends to contract a third party as the Marine Consultant for a proposed MarineCable survey and any additional ad hoc marine services that are required. The tasks to be undertaken by the Marine Consultant (detailed in a separate document ‘Scope of Requirements’) will include, but not be limited to: • Overall management of the geophysical marine survey of 187km of EWIC subsea cable • Assistance with the final preparation and evaluation of, the tender process for a suitable Marine Contractor • Project Management (including meetings, internal organisation of the Marine Consultant and reporting to achieve the work program, actions follow-up) • Planning (defining and updating schedule) • Permitting (identification, file preparation, liaison with authorities) for survey • Specify the requirements for a dedicated Fisheries Liaison Officer services • Cable Route Survey Management (specifications, support during tender, supervision of the campaign, results analysis) • Assessment of current condition of all Third party crossings and identification of any new crossings • Risk management • Risk assessment related to fishing & navigation activities • Weather analysis where this may have implications for the Cables The assignment will require specific report preparation and provision of detail as well as overall coordination, project management and stakeholder liaison. Ad hoc Marine Services EIDAC may require consultancy services for ‘ad-hoc’ unplanned works which are undertaken as required throughout the ongoing operations of EWIC. Typical work packages would include; - Advice on amendments or novation’s to existing crossing agreements - Consultancy services relating to the preparation for a subsea cable repair - Direct input to the periodic ‘Repair Preparedness Plan’ reviews - Analysis of shipping data - Expert advice relating to seabed mobility, etc. The Consultant will also be required to provide Marine Co
