Tender description

The British Library is seeking a Potential Contractor, with a proven track record in delivering demanding Guarding Services in comparable environments. It is anticipated that all services will be underpinned by technology, robust policies and procedures which will at all times reflect industry best practice within an environment of continuous improvement. The selected Contractor’s innovative approach will ensure resilient services to the Client’s customers and will drive efficiencies resulting in improved value for money to the Client. Overview of scope This contract will cover the site at St Pancras (London), but not Boston Spa.The contract will include, but not be limited to, the following: Provision of suitable on-site supervision Perimeter Guarding Services Access control at Gate 10 (main vehicle and delivery entrance for the site) Access control at Gate 5 (pedestrian access and occasional vehicle access) Searching of vehicles entering or leaving the site as required Response to incidents Locking and unlocking the public forecourt (“the Piazza”) as directed by the Client Patrol of the Piazza Out of hours external security patrols Out of hours cover for Gate 8 (staff entrance) Internal Guarding Services, including Bag searching/electronic screening Cloakroom services Public Area Security This list is not exhaustive ***NOTE*** An Information Day will be held at the British Library St Pancras, London NW1 2DB for Tenders 001074 (Guarding) (Lot 2) & 001073 (Estates Maintenance) (Lot1) on 29th August 2018 at 08:30am If you wish to attend the Information Day please email details (name & job title/role) of the representative(s) attending on your organisation’s behalf (maximum 2 per organisation) to tony.cole@bl.uk as soon as possible (and no later than noon on 28th August) to secure a place.
