In 1563 Sir Roger Manwood founded a Free Grammar School in Sandwich to make education accessible to the townspeople. Since 1563 a great deal has changed. The original school building still stands, but the school has occupied its present site since 1895. Boarders joined headmaster's house even in Elizabethan times, but expansion came much later. First, Manwood Lodge was acquired in 1947, and 3 years later the school purchased Manwood Grange. There are now 55 boarding places. For bidding companies to put forward proposals for a quality cleaning service and the investment necessary to achieve: — effective cover for staff absent that is not just covered by extended hours of site cleaners, — regular visits from the contracts manger who will liaise with the on-site cleaning staff monitor the quality of the daily cleaning and report to the supervising officer before leaving site, — clearly defined cleaning hours that meet the routine of The School and that are adhered to by all staff (can be different for holiday periods), — strict no smoking policy on any part of The School’s premises; including grounds and car parks. All on site supervision (working and non-working) to be fully priced and adhered to regular stock checks of materials, including review of suitability of products used regular inspection and maintenance /replacement of the contractor’s equipment regular training and development/motivation of staff and effective. Induction of new staff contracts manager to have monthly meetings with premises team manager cleaning schedule to be provided before every holiday period with, who’s working, their hours and what areas will be cleaned.
