Tender description

The aim of this project is to test and apply the use of specific indicators of natural capital and ecosystem services through the development of natural capital baseline assessments in the marine environment. The project will build on the work conducted under the Natural England Natural Capital Indicators project by using the indicators developed during that project to quantify the extent, condition and location of marine natural capital assets and associated ecosystems services in 3 case study Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). The work should identify the relevant data sets (or best proxies), and methodologies for measuring these indicators of natural capital and ecosystem services and provide a template and/or tool to enable the approach to be rolled out to other MPAs. The project will also produce information on how such an approach could be used in the wider seas.
