Tender description

Sheffield Hallam University have secured 2 off Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-TMS) instruments. The Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-TMS) instruments will be used by a large number of students and researchers in various fields of research including: synthetic chemistry, microbiology, biochemistry, pharmacokinetics, forensic toxicology and analytical science. High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) are included within the scope of this purchase. A third instrument may be purchased during the academic year 2019/20. Solutions which help extend the longevity of the units to keep abreast of technological developments may be applied and the University reserves the right to increase the capability and functionality of some or all the instruments purchased at a later date. The equipment is primarily to be used by the Department of Biosciences and Chemistry and by the Biomolecular Sciences Research Centre (BMRC), within the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing. A warranty, delivery to site and on site installation, commissioning and acceptance testing is provided. The University reserves the right to take out or not take out an extended warranty and an extended service/maintenance contract with the initial purchase, or following this. Training and technical support is included within the scope of the tender to assist and embed the use of the equipment.
