Co-ordination of the Children and Families Voluntary Sector Forum

Wiltshire Council Children’s Services recognises that an independent and varied voluntary and community sector is very important to the well-being of children and families and is a key partner in the planning and delivery of services to children and young people. To this end, Wiltshire Council have made available an annual grant of £15,000 to maintain a Childrens and Families Voluntary Sector Forum. The aim of the Forum is to bring together voluntary organisations through regular meetings, workshops and bespoke sessions and to work closely with Wiltshire Council to facilitate strong relationships and mutual engagement in commissioning processes. The intention is to ensure that the work of the voluntary sector is recognised and valued; that voluntary sector organisation can actively participate in service design and improvement and that organisations can share their knowledge and experience widely. The role of the Lead Organisation is to co-ordinate delivery of the Forum to meet the identified Grant Objectives and oversee a robust governance structure that ensures the active participation of the entire sector.
