Tender description

This is a voluntary ex ante transparency notice of the University of Birmingham's intention to award a contract. The University of Birmingham intends to extend and expand an existing contract with ASK4 Limited to include provision of its Student Telephony System for an additional period of 2 years to expire in 2020.This is an addition to the contract value published in notice 2015/S 063-111508 published in 2015, which did not state the contract value. The current system in the student halls of residence has reached the end of its useful life, therefore the University is looking to replace the system with a VoIP solution and propose to utilise the existing data infrastructure to support the solution. ASK4 Limited is currently contracted to provide the wired and wireless service to all student residences which will continue to run until 2017. The proposed extension is to run from 2017 to 2020. The current arrangement has a number of other dependencies that are not sufficiently aligned to allow for a fully integrated procurement process at this point in time. It is the University's intention to undertake a competitive tendering process to replace this arrangement in 2020. The University has identified that for reasons of exclusivity and compatibility with the existing provision of data infrastructure, ASK4 Limited is the only supplier capable of fulfilling the University's requirements.
