Social Movement in Cancer Prevention, Awareness and Support.

Sheffield City council would like to invite you to submit a bid to provide region wide social movement in Cancer Prevention, Awareness and Support. The 2015 Independent Cancer Taskforce set out an ambitious vision for improving services, care and outcomes for everyone with cancer: • fewer people getting cancer • more people surviving cancer • more people having a good experience of their treatment and care, whoever they are and wherever they live, and • more people being supported to live as well as possible after treatment has finished The South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Sheffield Cancer Sustainability and Transformation Partnership cancer work stream became a Cancer Alliance in November 2016 and as part of their early work bid for transformation funding to support the earlier diagnosis of cancer. The bid was successful and as a result the Cancer Alliance will receive additional funding to deliver a number of interventions with the aim of increasing the proportion of cancers diagnosed at an early stage. The development of a Social Movement in Cancer Prevention, Awareness and Support is one of those interventions.
