Tender description
Background Health Education England (HEE) e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH) manage and develop the award winning e-learning programme 'The HEE e-LfH Hub' https://portal.e-lfh.org.uk/ e-LfH is currently developing and delivering over 150 e-learning programmes in partnership with the professional bodies such as Royal Colleges and associations, Department of Health policy teams and other arm's length bodies. The HEE e-LfH Hub is currently hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and managed by a third party Data Intensity Ltd. HEE e-LfH want to move the Hub from AWS into the HEE Microsoft (MS) Azure network. For this to happen, HEE e-LfH must migrate the servers and services hosted in AWS to HEE Azure with the assistance of a third party. Project Driver The main project drivers are as follows: •Cost savings: HEE e-LfH estimate they can reduce their hosting cost by 1/3 using the HEE MS Azure service HEE currently host some of their services in the Microsoft (MS) Azure cloud hosting service. HEE have an agreement in place with Microsoft that offer cost savings and support via Enterprise Agreement/Software Assurance (EA/SA) volume licensing. HEE e-LfH want benefit from the EA/SA agreement. and EA agreement. •Procurement of hosting services - HEE e-LfH will not have to engage a 3rd party (Data Intensity) for procuring hosting services. The hosting service will be 'in-house' within the HEE and this is a major benefit for HEE e-LfH when renewing and procuring new hosting services. It also ensures that HEE e-LfH IT strategy is aligned with the HEE Technical department. •Access to Microsoft technology - the HEE e-LfH Hub and 'beta-phase' HEE Learning Solution have been developed using Microsoft technologies. HEE e-LfH will have access to more advanced Microsoft technology within the HEE MS Azure service.
