England Coast Path: Assessment of saltmarsh route, Norfolk

Details

Published
7 August 2018

Tender description

Natural England is currently working on all of the English coast to implement the coastal access duty to create a new National Trail (the England Coast Path) around England’s open coast by 2020. As part of this work, and at one location in Norfolk, we want to establish the feasibility, practical implications and likely cost of creating a sustainable walking route across an area of saltmarsh subject to occasional inundation. This route would need to meet the England Coast Path quality standards, be designed appropriately for the local circumstances, be safe and convenient for the public to use, avoid normal tidal encroachment and withstand abnormal inundation.
