Establishing a multi-supplier framework for the provision of electricity supplies to tram and rail operators in the UK. Establishing a multi-supplier framework for the provision of electricity supplies to tram and rail operators in the UK. Initial call off supply contracts will be awarded for supplies to Nottingham Tram and West Midlands Metro. All further call off contracts for Nottingham and West Midlands and any other UK rail or tram operators will be conducted by way of a mini-competition between the suppliers on the framework, requiring the suppliers to submit revised bids for the specific needs and consumption volumes of the operator. It is envisaged that five suppliers will be appointed to the framework. Only suppliers holding a valid supply licence issued by Ofgem under the Electricity Act 1989 will be considered for appointment.
