Tender description

The contracting authority is looking for economic operators to provide tyres, tubes and ancillary management services for around eight hundred and sixty-four (864) vehicles within its fleet, and one hundred and sixty-five(165) items of plant/trailers. The contracting authority operates a twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) day a week, three hundred and sixty-five (365) days a year service and the economic operator would be expected to maintain a tyre repair service when called upon to do so at any UK location on a twenty-four (24) hour basis. All the tyre fitters are required to have a suitable vehicle (fully equipped) at their disposal for all aspects of mobile repairs. The contracting authority carries out its vehicle maintenance program at the main two (2) workshops situated at George Street Dewsbury and Vine Street Huddersfield. The contracting authority also operates depots at Reins Road, Honley and Mayman Lane Batley. The economic operator will be expected to attend to puncture repairs and tyre replacements at any of the above or another location identified. The economic operator must also hold sufficient numbers and required range of tyres and wheels to ensure that it fully meets its obligations in the performance of the service. The contracting authority operates a twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) day a week, three hundred and sixty-five (365) days a year service and the economic operator would be expected to maintain a tyre repair service when called upon to do so at any UK location on a twenty-four (24) hour basis. All the tyre fitters are required to have a suitable vehicle (fully equipped) at their disposal for all aspects of mobile repairs. The economic operator is to provide a single telephone number for twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) day a week, three hundred and sixty-five (365) days a year callouts for Out of Service Time Repairs and must also be able to attend tyre replacement or punctures at any UK location on a twenty-four (24) hour basis to carry out any tyre repair (this may be sub-contracted with prior approval of the contracting authority). The contracting authority has approximately eight hundred and sixty-four (864) vehicles and one hundred andsixty-five (165) items of plant/trailers.
