Tender description
The purchase is a substantial upgrade for our existing 800 MHz NMR spectrometer which comprises a superconducting magnet, console and a helium-cooled cryoprobe. We shall keep the existing magnet with its complex ‘pumped’ cooling and monitoring system and the upgrade must be compatible with this item. Furthermore, we shall keep the specialised cryoplatform that is required to cool the existing (and the new) cryoprobe. Therefore the equipment purchased must be compatible with both the magnet and the cryoplatform (hardware and software!) and, in addition, be supplied by a vendor with a track record of supply and maintenance of the required new items, particularly the microcryoprobe. It is clear that only one vendor is able to meet both these criteria: Bruker, who supplied the original instrumentation.
