Tender description
As part of the LU Track Programme, Deep Tube Renewal (DTR) is to improve the condition of track which provides improvements to performance and ride comfort. Current process is labour intensive, therefore our aim is to improve health and safety of the workforce as well unlock further efficiencies in the track replacement process. A potential technical solution has been identified as a Mechanised Renewal Vehicle (MRV). A supplier will be required to present a design that will allow for the installation of plant on 3 refurbished wagons supplied by LU. The MRV will need to achieve the following outputs: — Higher output of track renewal per shift, — Faster mobilization of materials/tools to site, — Faster setup time, — Improved Health and Safety, and — Reduced cost per metre of renewed concrete. The MRV will be hauled and powered by the LU battery locomotive. Please register your interest on TfL’s ProContract portal, under the Mechanised Renewal Vehicle opportunity page.
