Tender description

The Shrewsbury Flax Mill Malings Project is Historic England’s flagship rescue project. Working in partnership with Shropshire Council and the Friends of the Flaxmill Maltings. The Main Mill and Kiln Project is the largest element of the site’s rescue and regeneration. This tender covers, structural repairs, re-roofing and repairs/refurbishment to brickwork, windows etc of the Kiln, together with various sections of the Main Mill. Refurbishment and fit-out of Main Mill to provide visitor centre, café and kitchen on ground floor, with four floors of commercial office space above, with full new services. The Kiln will become a large, unheated atrium with reception, new lifts and stairs. External works include a new car park, full new drainage and services infrastructure, re-surfacing and other landscape work, and works to retaining walls.
