Tender description
The BBC is tendering for a maximum of six agencies to create a PR network. The agencies will offer excellent value for money in delivering a strategic programme of TV Licensing communications via press, stakeholder and social media at a specialist level in the nations and regions. The BBC is seeking agencies which understand the issues facing TV Licensing and can demonstrate best practise in communicating with audiences efficiently and effectively in a changing media and economic climate. Agencies will be required to achieve set objectives efficiently and add value to TV Licensing by contributing to strategic and tactical thinking. PR services required include: • Media - proactive (regular story opportunities, print, news websites and broadcast) • Reactive (fast response) • Stakeholder relations (e.g. liaison with money advice or disability organisations) • Digital engagement (Twitter and beyond) The level of activity each month will vary but each agency will have a set list of objectives in media, social media and stakeholder relations which needs to be achieved by the end of the quarter. The regional agencies represent and are the face of TV Licensing in their geographical area. It is their responsibility to develop relationships with press and other stakeholders. Strategy will be set by the BBC and implemented by the regional agencies. There will be opportunities for the regional agencies to input into that strategy and planning process, particularly at the twice yearly performance review meetings which are face to face. The regional agency is an extension of the wider TV Licensing PR team at the BBC, which is responsible for national PR activity. The BBC has split regional coverage into six areas made up of nations and regions, a single agency is required per area. Agencies are able to apply for more than one area, however each nation or region will be evaluated independently.
