The Institute of Technology, Tralee and Cork Institute of Technology are merging to create the Munster Technological University (MTU). MTU will be a flagship University, leading and defining what it means to be a technological university. At its core it will be wholly responsive to its client groups in relation to all aspects of its organisation and especially through its three key pillars of activity: education; research and engagement. MTU sees these as an interrelated set of activities that will collectively make a significant contribution to individuals, communities and regional/national development. This is an exciting time for higher education institutes. The MTU project has progressed to the final stage of the process towards Technological University Designation. 2.2 Contract Brief A comprehensive Project Management Framework is in place which addresses: • Programme governance • Planning • Implementation • Reporting • Resourcing and budgeting • Risk management We hope to finalise the Project Management Office (PMO) personnel in the near future and require support in the mobilisation process in respect of the Project Management Framework .
