Tender description

DCC require the provision of Forestry management and associated works services for the DCC woodland areas. The intention is to appoint a contractor under a Framework Agreement to act as DCC Forestry manager (FM) and manage all aspects of the commercial and amenity forestry under DCC control. The DCC Forestry Manager will: — promote the interests of forestry on behalf of DCC, — develop afforestation and the production and sale of timber, — undertake nature conservation and biodiversity duties as required. The DCC Forestry Manager will: — promote the interests of forestry on behalf of DCC, — develop afforestation and the production and sale of timber, — undertake nature conservation and biodiversity duties as required. 2.2 DCC seek to appoint one contractor to the Framework to deliver services to relevant sites across the DCC operating area. 2.3 DCC currently own circa. 910+ Hectares (ha) of forests and woodland areas throughout Wales, situated at the following areas: — 360 ha of mainly coniferous forest at Llyn Brenig (Llyn Brenig Visitor Centre, Cerrigydrudion, Corwen, LL21 9TT), — 411 ha of deciduous and coniferous woodland at Elan Valley (Elan Valley Visitor Centre, Rhayader, Powys, LD6 5HP), — 79 ha of mainly oak woodland at Llys y Fran (Llys y Fran Country Park, Clarbeston Road, Pembrokeshire, SA63 4RR), — Approx. 60 ha of timber (stands) in South East Wales. DCC also have a number of smaller woodland areas throughout Wales.
