SLC wants to engage market to explore potential supplier who can provide a database which allows sharing of information about known fraudulent personal, address or financial details with other organisations spread across the banking, retail credit, insurance, savings and utilities sectors. A database which allows sharing of information about known fraudulent personal, address or financial details with other organisations spread across the banking, retail credit, insurance, savings and utilities sectors. Database will hold details that have been used for fraudulent purposes and can be matched against SLC’s information, identifying high risk applications that require further investigation before student finance payments are made. The database should allow organisations to exchange details of products or services applications which are considered to be fraudulent because the information provided by the applicant fails verification checks. SLC must be able to log details of fraudulent applications in line with the current sanctions regime operated. These details must also be shared with the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB). possibly via a data transfer facility held by the database.
