Supply of a National Research Programmes Design Scoping Study

Ocean Science and Information Services (OSIS), a service area of the Marine Institute, provides comprehensive services in the area of oceanography (observational oceanography and research, research infrastructure including equipment and vessels, ocean modelling and derived services) both within and external to the Marine Institute and is also responsible for the development and coordination of data practice and digital services to support marine-related public services, research and innovation. At present a requirement exists for A National Research Programmes Design Study in two Lots. Tenderers are invited to bid for one or more Lots. Each Lot will be evaluated independently. The Marine Institute, looking to implement key actions identified in the National Marine Research and Innovation Strategy require two depth scoping studies to investigate a range of research programme structures, including examples nationally and from comparative other countries, leading to identification of a set of optimal and costed recommended options for two identified subject areas: 1. ‘Oceans in a Changing Climate’ (Lot 1); and 2. ‘Irish Digital Ocean’ (Lot 2). The resulting reports should provide detailed analysis, involving widespread stakeholder and end user engagement, of the focus areas that address key gaps or requirements at a national level and clear definition of the potential research programme structures that will address these.
