Tender description
The contract is split into 4 lots: — Young Carers and Young adult carers - Advice & Advocacy, — "Giving Carers A Voice" (carer engagement and awareness raising), — Back care services, and, — Benefits Advice for Carers. These contracts will be for up to 4 years, being for 2 years in the 1st instance with the opportunity for this to be extended by mutual agreement for 2 further periods of 1-year. Lot 1- Young Carers and Young Adult Carers Advice (young carers under 18) - Provide information, advice, and advocacy for young carers including help with accessing help from other services such as Adult and Children’s Social Care and other support that promotes their health and well-being. To provide and facilitate informed carer opinion to the process of policy making, service development and monitoring outcomes. To ensure reliable knowledge and skills of professionals in partner organizations in order to make progress on Carers’ issues. To provide information to carers of all client groups who engage with the giving carers a voice programme, with the aim of improving their quality of life; this includes emotional, physical and mental health. This will also include the provision of information via the internet. To provide individual personalized back care advice and support in carers own homes. Provision of small-scale equipment or referrals to other agencies for assistance with this. Working with health colleagues such as Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to promote better back care and back care advice for carers. Working with social care professionals to increase awareness of the need to consider moving and handling and Back Care issues within statutory assessment processes. To provide benefits advice to individual Surrey carers in cases referred by carers support organizations which will include complex cases that may be beyond the scope and competence of local advice organizations. Ensure and evidence that the views of careers are central to the delivery of support for careers and how these views have resulted in change or the setting of priorities for delivery of these activities.
