Tender description
Dstl requires a new benchtop LC-HRMS to meet Dstl’s analytical research requirements for small molecule, protein and peptide analysis. Software should support the identification of unknowns, quantification of analytes and statistical analysis for metabolomic workflows. The Supplier must ensure: — the LC-HRMS is a benchtop instrument, with maximum non-standard electrical power requirements of 2 × 16A and otherwise 13A. — total cost ≤£570k (including VAT). — the LC-HRMS must be delivered by 30 March 2018. — LC and HRMS systems must be from the same manufacturer to simplify instrument servicing, maintenance and minimise training burden for users. — the LC-HRMS hardware and software must meet the following technical specifications: Liquid chromatography (LC) system: — binary high-pressure gradient mixing pump (aqueous and organic solvent compatible) with a minimum of 6 mobile phase channels (excluding needle wash reservoir). — Flow rates: from 0.1 μL - 8 mL/min, flow accuracy and precision ± 0.1 %. — Pressure: safely tolerate 1000 bar (minimum). — column compartment and connections for 2 × LC columns (150 x 2.1 mm ID) to be installed at the same time to enable rapid switching. — temperature controlled column compartment: 5 - 120 oC (± 0.5oC variability). — temperature controlled autosampler compartment: 4 – 40 oC (± 0.5oC variability). — complete system and fittings are biocompatible. — automated autosampler needle wash / system flushing between a sample to ensure negligible analyte carryover. — reproducible injection of 1 – 20 μL of sample from vials (low recovery ≤ 200 μL, and standard 1 – 1.5 mL vials) and 96 well plates (shallow and deep well standard manufacturer dimensions). Must facilitate low volume injection (1 – 5 μL) from low volumes of samples (≤ 50 μL) in vials and plates. High-resolution mass spectrometer (HRMS): — Mass range: m/z 50 – 3000 (minimum). — Mass resolution: ≥ 70,000 @ m/z 200 (minimum). — Mass accuracy: < 1 ppm. — Electrospray ionization (ESI) and Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionisation (APCI) sources. — Polarity switching (in run): < 1 sec for 1 pos and 1 neg scan at a resolution setting of 35000. — Available MS scan modes: full scan, SIM, MS2, DDA (≥ top 3 targets per run). — Scan rate: 12 Hz (at a resolution setting of 17500 @ m/z 200).
