Tender description
The UK's Department for International Development (DFID) will be seeking a supplier to provide services to our 5-year Scaling Up Family Planning in Tanzania programme that will strengthen the health system and provide comprehensive family planning services to women and girls in rural and urban areas including refugees and people with disabilities. These services will comprise of long-and-short-term acting methods of family planning, Comprehensive Post-Abortion Care (CPAC) and management of Gender-Based Violence (GBV). The programme will also emphasize counseling and testing for HIV and dual protection. The contract is anticipated to start around September 2018 and span a period of 5 years. Indicative results that are expected through the Scaling Up Family Planning in Tanzania programme are. — Provide 10 million Couple Years of Protection. — Avert 940,600 abortions. — Avert 6200 maternal death. — Avert 4.9 million child DALYs (mortality). — Save healthcare 163 million (2015 GBP). The intended procurement route is a Restricted process with a DFID Standard Services contracting method. DFID intends to hold an Early Market Engagement (EME) event on Friday the 26th of January 2018 at 09:00 at DFID's Headquarters at Abercrombie House, Eaglesham Road, East Kilbride, G75 8EA and DFID Tanzania, 5th Floor, Umoja House, Garden Avenue, P.O. Box 9200, Dares Salaam, Tanzania. There will not be a facility to dial into this event. During the EME representatives from DFID will: 1) Present further details on the requirements, 2) Provide an update on the procurement process, and, 3) Provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and contribute to the planned procurement approach. In addition, there will be an opportunity during the event for networking. An attendance list will be circulated after the event. In order to register your attendance, you must register your interest on the DFID Supplier Portal (https://supplierportal.dfid.gov.uk/selfservice/) and complete the details requested in the Survey Monkey link that will be available on the DFID Supplier Portal. Due to limited capacity, attendance is restricted to two representatives per organization. Places will be reserved on a first come first served basis and when capacity is reached the Survey Monkey will be closed and no further registration will be accepted. You must register by 12:00 (Noon - BST) on Wednesday the 24th of January 2018. Please note that only Companies that pre-register will have security clearance to attend the event. The ‘Dialogue/Clarification’ function on the DFID Supplier Portal will be the main communication channel moving forward. We are happy to receive questions, comments, and suggestions in advance, which we will respond to at the event, and we will not disclose the source of these when responding.
