LHC on behalf of the Welsh Procurement Alliance (WPA) is working with a number of social housing providers to procure a construction framework for new build housing throughout Wales. It is proposed to split the framework into a number of regional lots based on project size. The framework will be structured to encourage SME's to tender. It is proposed to split the framework into two workstreams: — Workstream 1 Consultancy Services (service contract) will include architects, project management, clerk of works, health and safety, structural engineers and M&E consultants. — Workstream 2 Construction Services (works contract) will be split by project size: — — Projects up to 15 units. — — Projects of 16 to 40 units. — — Projects of 41 or more units. Each workstream will be split into regional lots across Wales for different project sizes with the aim to encourage smaller organizations to tender for the framework. The framework is proposed primarily for the construction of new houses. There will also be the option for contractors to offer apartments, sheltered accommodation, nursing homes, residential care and student accommodation under the framework. The framework will be open for use by any publicly funded organization including local authorities, registered providers, universities, and charities.
