Tender description

The Architects Department on behalf of Operations Department, Fingal County Council are procuring Civil and Structural engineering services to work as part of design team in relation to design and development of a cemetery at Kellystown, Dublin 15. A scheme has progressed through the planning process and the scope now proposed involves the development of the scheme through detail design and construction on site within phasing and budgeting requirements. The site measuring 3.7 Ha is a greenfield site and requires development of new access roads including all associated servicing and landscaping. Full civil and structural engineering services are now required to allow for development and completion of the scheme to a high standard. It is envisaged that the works will be carried out in stages according to anticipated demand. When completed the proposed cemetery will accommodate approx. 3075 grave plots, 500 memorial plots and 500 columbarium niches for ashes. The site work for the cemetery requires the partial development of an extension of existing east west distributor road, This road will include cycle lanes , footpaths and landscape strip both sides of carriage way and include all drainage and ducting for infrastructure development, ESB, Gas, water mains, utilities and public lighting .A new access road with junction to main road to follow site boundary will also be developed to open up the site. Site development works for the cemetery will include fencing and boundary walls around the entire site, public and staff carpark, bicycle parking, burial plots, columbarium walls, memorial plots, gathering and reflection areas and all associated site development works such as footpaths, headstone concrete plinths, seating areas, bin shelters, site landscaping, and a working yard form part of the deliverables. A carpark will be provided to accommodate approximately 100 cars.
