Transformer Oil Removal

Tender description

As part of a wider refurbishment project on the South Tees Site Company's (STSC) 66kV High Voltage Distribution network, STSC wish to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced provider to drain, store, recondition, and refill two 66kV to 11kV plant main power transformers (referred to as T67 & T68) and associated equipment. The service is to include the supply labour and specialist equipment for the following for each transformer (2 off): Stage 1 (Transformer No. 1) • Removal of transformer oil from a the 30MVA transformer main tank, cooler, tank tool gear and associated pipework, volume of oil approximately 3401 gallons. Deadline: oil to be removed by 13th July 2018 • Off-site storage of oil at a suitable facility for approximately 30 days • Application of Nitrogen or Dry Air blanket to the transformer No.1 to maintain the suitable preservation of the transformer internal parts & components: o Provision, use, and connection of Dry air machine at site o Connect pipework and satisfactorily supply the transformer main tank with Dry Air o Connect Nitrogen bottle, regulator & connections, etc. • Recondition oil* and re-fill** • Oil processing pass within the transformer tank, cooler bank and pipework Stage 2 (Transformer No. 2) • Removal of transformer oil from a the 30MVA transformer main tank, cooler, tool gear tank and associated pipework, volume of oil approximately 3401 gallons • Off-site storage of oil fat a suitable facility for approximately 30 days • Application of Nitrogen or Dry Air blanket to the transformer No.2 to maintain the suitable preservation of the transformer internal parts & components: o Provision, use, and connection of Dry air machine at site o Connect pipework and satisfactorily supply the transformer main tank with Dry Air o Connect Nitrogen bottle, regulator & connections, etc. • Recondition oil* and re-fill** • Oil processing pass within the transformer tank, cooler bank and pipework The wider project is due to commence on the 16th July 2018 and the first transformer will be required to be drained prior to this date.
