Tender description
This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to inform providers, suppliers and other interested parties of the authority’s intention to commission the provision of integrated support for victims and witnesses in London, such as: — Assessment and referral, — Support for victims of crime, — Specialist support for victims and survivors of domestic violence, — Restorative Justice, — Pre-trial information and support for witnesses. Potential providers, specialists and other interested parties are invited to engage with the authority to inform the integrated service design and specification. A Safer City for All Londoners: Police and Crime Plan 2017-2021* puts victims at the heart of everything MOPAC does and is a golden thread through the plan, making significant commitments regarding the provision of better services and improving the experience of the criminal justice service for victims of crime. *https://www.london.gov.uk/what-we-do/mayors-office-policing-and-crime-mopac/police-and-crime-plan-safer-city-all-londoners?source=vanityurl MOPAC, the Ministry of Justice and London Councils have signed a Memorandum of Understanding** relating to justice devolution. This included commitments around the devolution of pre-trial and outreach support for witnesses in London, and to cooperate on developing an integrated service delivery model for victims and witnesses in London. **https://www.london.gov.uk/mopac-publications-0/memorandum-understanding-london-cjs The London Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Strategy 2018-2021*** set out commitments to reduce the prevalence and impact of violence against women and girls, through prevention and challenging cultural norms, tackling perpetrators by bringing them to justice and putting interventions in place to address their behaviours, and protecting and supporting victims, including through Independent Domestic Violence Advisor provision, across London. ***https://www.london.gov.uk/mopac-publications/mayors-violence-against-women-and-girls-strategy-2018-2021 If necessary please copy the above links into your web browser MOPAC has initiated a programme to increase support for victims experiencing significant harm, including serious violence, and for vulnerable and intimidated witnesses. MOPAC’s objective is to improve current provision, and deliver an integrated, accessible, responsive, quality support offer for: — victims of crime, to aid their ability to cope and recover from the experience and reduce their risk of re-victimisation, and — witnesses, so they are able to attend court and give their best evidence. MOPAC therefore intends to commission the provision of seamless, end-to-end support for victims and witnesses in London, including enhanced, specialist support for victims of the most serious crime, persistently targeted victims, and vulnerable or intimidated victims and witnesses. The range of support is likely to include: — Assessment and referral, — Support for victims of crime, — Specialist support for victims and survivors of domestic violence, — Restorative Justice, — Pre-trial information and support for all witnesses attending court, including defence witnesses. MOPAC would like to invite interested parties to register for a Market Engagement Event with a further two smaller events also planned. Further information will be made available (to those who register) prior to the events.
