Tender description

Wigan Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Service Provider to haul and treat approximately 25,000 tonnes of organic(food and garden) waste per annum. The initial term of the contract will be 3 years, with an option to extend the contract for two further periods of 12 months each. The service will involve the daily removal of kerbside collected organic (food and garden) waste from Wigan's Transfer Station to ensure the smooth running of Wigan's household collection service. The provider will be expected to haul the organic waste to its own treatment facility, where the waste will be either composted or digested in accordance with national standards to achieve the highest recycling rate possible..
