Tender description

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) intends to tender for Taxi and Courier Services on behalf of its hospitals, GP Premises and/or Sexual Health Premises (Umbrella) located within the Birmingham and / or outer Birmingham region. The majority of Trust Taxi activity is within the West Midlands Region. Following the acquisition of the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust on 1.4.2018, our hospitals include: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Edgbaston), Good Hope Hospital (Sutton Coldfield), Solihull Hospital and Birmingham Heartlands Hospital (East Birmingham). Taxi and Courier services shall include the movement of staff, patients, specimens (Category B) and medical equipment / devices on the same day and / or next day basis. Courier services may include UK and International collection / delivery. The Trust is considering awarding contracts to 1 or more providers dependent upon capacity, experience and value for money. Contract duration: minimum 3 years. Taxi Services for Queen Elizabeth Hospital Mindelsohn Way Edgbaston, Birmingham B15 2GW And Satellite Departments / Units Taxi Services for Birmingham Heartlands Hospital Bordesley Green East Birmingham B9 5SS Plus Satellite Departments / Units Taxi Services for: Good Hope Hospital Rectory Road Sutton Coldfield B75 7RR Plus Satellite Departments / Units Taxi Services for: Solihull Hospital Lode Lane Solihull B91 2JL Plus Satellite Departments / Units Courier Services (Specialist) for Trust Hospital locations and various GP and / or Sexual Health premises. These may include the collection / transportation of biological substances such as microrganisms, clinical samples, pathogens, drugs and infectious and non-infectious substances. Courier Services for Trust hospital locations and various GP and / or Sexual Health premises. These will cover the collection / transportation of routine / non specialist items including documents and parcels.
