Tender description

The award of this contract is being made due to the incumbent supplier Carillion AMBS Limited going into liquidation and services ceasing with effect from 30.6.2018. The provision of these services is essential and required on the grounds of extreme urgency to ensure continuity. The formal liquidation of Carillion AMBS Limited was not foreseeable by Stockport Council, nor was it foreseeable that Stockport Council would be in a position in June 2018 whereby a replacement provider had not been appointed by Price Waterhouse Cooper (the appointed liquidator). The Council has not caused the event of liquidation of Carillion AMBS Limited and the delays in putting a replacement in place have not been caused by Stockport Council's inaction. This 12 month contract award is to provide a suitable period of time as is necessary for the Council to conduct a compliant OJEU process and appoint a new provider.
