IMPORTANT NOTE: Only suppliers who as a minimum can evidence professional indemnity insurance of £5,000,000 and are RISQS Qualified and fall under the following codes will be eligible for this opportunity. F.C.1.1 Main Steelwork F.C.1.2 Design, Small Part Steelwork F.C.1.5 Design, Wiring F.C.1.6 Design, Earthing & Bonding F.C.1.7 Design, Switching F.C.6.1 Design, Electrification Consultancy F.C.6.2 Service, Development & Review Electrification Standards Safety Technical and Engineering Directorate (STED) are accountable for setting policy, direction and providing assurance for every asset on the rail network – Network Rail (NR) technical standards are a key mechanism in managing this accountability. The purpose of this contract is to instruct a supplier that will be able to update the Construction Assurance for Overhead Contact Systems. The purpose of the new Standard is to specify requirements to achieve safety, economy and performance in managing the construction of new Overhead Contact System (OCS) sub systems. The new standard should: • Identify the necessary safety principles to allow the Principal Contractor to work with interfacing disciplines to allow the railway system safety to be optimised • Document system level hazards and operating conditions that third parties must comply with. • Provide requirements in respect to OCS construction (and design) to enable compliance with international and national regulations, legislations and other internal NR standards. The standard shall be split into four modules, this modules are detailed below: • Module 1 – Material Control; • Module 2 – Installation • Module 3 – Testing and Commissioning • Module 4 – Entry into Service, Handover and Post Commissioning
