Weighing machinery and scales

Tender description

Post Office Ltd has a Business as Usual (BAU) requirement for the provision and supply of weighing equipment within the Post Office estate. This includes branch network, CVIT’s and portable scales. Additionally there is a further requirement to obtain pricing for scales to be installed into Self Service Kiosks (SSK). Scale types will include: Branch Counter scales, Mobile scales, Platform scales and Desktop scales the previous business model with the supplier providing a maintenance service has changed, with maintenance now provided by the incumbent supplier FM services. In considering the procurement we need to bear in mind that the traditional maintenance element will not be included and this procurement will be for 2 lots: 1) For the supply and delivery of goods and the 2) For the supply, delivery and installation of the scales. The main requirement will be for 300 to 400 counter scales per annum however an additional requirement will be to price up 2 000 additional scales (same specification) which may be utilised for Self Service Kiosks (SSK’s). SSK’s are currently going through a separate tender with the current model being the supplier provides and installs the scales as part of the SSK build. Equipment Future Proofing: The following are not day one requirements, however extra consideration will be given to suppliers who currently have this technology and/or are working towards this smart technology. — “Wireless” capability via Bluetooth and/or Wi-Fi networking (for any branch models that may use a tablet computer), — Device that can measure the dimension of a parcel (Length, Width, Height), — Additional MI to allow us to understand things like Downtime (Machine or operator), trends in size/weight of items.
