Tender description

The National Library of Wales is seeking a solution to deliver up to 250 000 A/V assets, including up to 150 TB of digitised video and sound material for viewing in four locations of a new Welsh Broadcast Archive. These locations will between them have 60 terminals which will be able to search the system and view/listen to the content. The solution will need to communicate with NLW's other systems including the catalogue, digital archive tape library, digital asset management system, existing workflows and also a new crowdsourcing system for volunteer activity. The solution is for a part of a project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, which is currently in it's development phase. These locations will between them have 60 terminals which will be able to search the system and view/listen to the content. The solution will need to communicate with NLW's other systems including the catalogue, digital archive tape library, digital asset management system, existing workflows and also a new crowdsourcing system for volunteer activity. The maximum budget is GBP 350 000 (excluding VAT) for the system, license and maintenance for the first 5 years. The project is partly funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and any award will be conditional upon the success of the final submission.
