Tender description

NHS West Berkshire CCG ("the CCG") is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced providers who can deliver an appropriate package of care to an individual ("service user”) with a severe learning disability, autism and associated severe challenging behaviour. The contract will be for an initial period of 3 years with the option to extend for further periods as per the tender documentation. NHS West Berkshire CCG ("the CCG") is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced providers who can deliver an appropriate package of care to an individual ("service user") with a severe learning disability, autism and associated severe challenging behaviour. The contract will be for an initial period of 3 years with the option to extend for further periods as per the tender documentation. Please see the enclosed Pen Profile and Care Plan Specification for a full brief regarding the service user's needs and presentation. Potential Care Packages The CCG has identified the following three options in regards to how care could be provided: 1) Bespoke package of care with a mix of qualified nursing staff and NVQ trained support staff, all with considerable experience of working with individuals that challenge, in a community environment (can be private tenancy or core and cluster model) within the West Berkshire area and where not, geographical details of any proposed community area ("Care Package 1"); 2) Residential care home specialised in caring for people with autism and challenging behaviour; high ratio of qualified nursing staff and NVQ trained support staff (potential provider to address whether a residential care home could be provided within the West Berkshire area, and where not, geographical details of any proposed residential care home ("Care Package 2"). 3) Hospital placement specialised for autism, learning disability and behaviours that challenge within the West Berkshire area, and where not, geographical details of any proposed hospital ("Care Package 3") The CCG is happy to consider an alternative model to those proposed, if the Provider can demonstrate confidence in providing the package and it fulfilling all the requirements stated. The service user is currently in a residential school. Notice on his current placement expires on 31.8.2018 and any proposal will need to achieve a transition by that date.
