Engineering Consultancy Services for Killaloe Bypass, Shannon Bridge Crossing & R494 Improvement

Tender description

The client seeks multidisciplinary consultant as described in the Brief / Information Document to deliver the project. Stages (ii) to (v) Services. Clare County Council ("the Contracting Authority") in conjunction with Tipperary County Council now wish to appoint a firm of Consulting Engineers, including Specialist Consultancy Services as detailed in the attached documents, to undertake the detailed design, preparation of tender documentation, tender evaluation, tender award, contract administration, cost control including agreement of final accounts for the proposed Killaloe Bypass, Shannon Bridge Crossing and R494 Improvement, (the “Project”). The Project was granted planning permission by An Bord Pleanala (Ref Nr: 03.HA0038) in March 2013. Applicants should note that the constraints study, route selection, preliminary design, Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), land acquisition procedures and obtaining planning permission have been completed for the Project. Copies of the An Bord Pleanala reports are also available to download from this link. Applicants are required to review the information provided to assess its adequacy. The approved route for the Project runs from the R463 north of Killaloe in Co Clare to the R494 south of Ballina in Co Tipperary with the R494 Improvement extending southwards to the junction of the R445 (formerly N7) north of Birdhill in Co Tipperary. Please refer to drawings Fig.1.1 and Fig 2.2 to 2.5 included in the EIS, Volume 3, Figures for location plan and maps of the approved route prepared by Roughan O’Donovan. This contract was awarded to RPS Consulting Engineers, Innishmore, Ballinacollig, Co. Cork.
