Tender description

North Lanarkshire Council (NLC) intend to establish a Framework for services linked to Scottish Attainment Challenge and Pupil Equity Fund. Key objectives of Scottish Attainment Challenge is to provide opportunities for local authorities in addressing the poverty related attainment gap. The Pupil Equity funding is additional funding allocated directly to schools with objective to allow flexibility within a local context for schools to target interventions aimed at closing the poverty related attainment gap. It is envisaged that Service Providers appointed to this Framework will support these objectives. The resultant services will be made available to Primary, Secondary and Additional Support Needs schools within NLC. To provide a service which engages and encourages pupils to learn and develop through participation in a range of learning activities and experiences which may include, but are not limited to, outdoor learning, sport and social activities aimed at closing the poverty related attainment gap. To provide a service which supports nurture and health and wellbeing activities which the local authority provides as part of the Scottish Attainment Challenge and or Pupil Equity Fund programmes. These services could include mentoring activities, guidance and one-to-one support. They may include, but are not limited to, group and / or one-to-one work with pupils and/or families, counselling, resilience coaching, speech and language therapy, mediation and services to promote positive mental wellbeing. To provide a service which focuses on engaging pupils, parents / carers and the wider community in learning through activities to close the poverty related attainment gap. The service(s) provided will complement the range of activities which the local authority currently provides. To provide a service which focuses on the support and encouragement of pupils to manage their own learning in order that they may develop their skills, improve their performance and maximise their potential. This service may include but is not limited to additional support with academic studies, coaching, youth work and support and mentoring programs. To provide a service which engages pupils on a particular subject, activity or project through discussion, performance or participation in class(es) dedicated to the project or activity. This service may include, but is not limited to, mindfulness, yoga, confidence building, nutrition, diversity and health and wellbeing. To provide a service which will develop leadership skills in teachers and support staff as part of the local authority’s commitment to career long professional learning. To provide a service which will develop leadership and team working skills in pupils of all ages and abilities across the local authority. To provide support and assessment materials primarily in the areas of Literacy, Numeracy and Health and Wellbeing. This service may include, but is not limited to, standardised diagnostic assessment and screening tools. To provide a service which will support the local authority in seeking to close the poverty related attainment gap. This service may include, but is not limited to, data analysis and research based activities focused on closing the poverty related attainment gap.
