Tender description

Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), as the contracting authority for Greater Manchester Police (GMP), will shortly be tendering for a contract to provide maintenance services for its firearms ranges; including the deleading, annual deep cleans and repair or replacement of the materials. GMP ranges include a 50 m 8 lane indoor range, a 50 m 4 lane indoor range and a close quarter combat indoor firing range. The forthcoming tender will potentially also include provision of the same or similar services to North Wales Police, Cheshire Constabulary, Merseyside and other North West Police Forces. The proposed duration of the contract will be 3 years plus 2 optional 1 year extensions. The estimated value of the contract is based on current servicing schedules and includes the potential to replace some materials subject to age and use. Cleaning schedules are dependent on range usage. This is a Prior Information Notice. The tender documents have not yet been issued for this contract and no action is required at this time – the full specification will be published at the same time as the OJEU Contract Notice, which is expected in September 2018. Greater Manchester Police and other North West Forces have a requirement for a supplier to provide a service to maintain its firearms ranges including the deleading, annual deep cleans and repair or replacement of the materials. The schedule of the services will depend on the previous service history, age and use of the ranges. Following the publication of the ITT suppliers will be able to complete site visits to the ranges on pre-arranged dates prior to the submission deadline for bids. The visits will be supervised and the taking of photographs or videos is not permitted. The event will take place at each range, and interested parties may send 2 representatives. The tender will be issued via the Bluelight e-tendering system (www.bluelight.gov.uk). Interested parties should ensure they are registered on the Bluelight system and that their contact details are kept up-to-date.
