Northern Powergrid Limited, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy (BHE), is proposing to invite companies to enter a tender process for the supply and delivery of personal protective equipment and safety products (PPE). Northern Powergrid Limited uses the Achilles Utilities Vendor Database (UVDB) as a Qualification System. Supplier's interested in this potential opportunity must be registered with the UVDB in order to receive details from Northern Powergrid Limited. Suppliers can access the UVBD from the following link https://www.achilles.com/community/uvdb/ Suppliers should register with the UVDB for codes relating to personal protective equipment and safety related products. The deadline for registering with the UVDB is 10.8.2018. Northern Powergrid Limited shall seek to establish a Framework Agreement based on a Fully Managed Service concept, where the Contractor will manage this business requirement on behalf of all it's subsidiary companies. There are approximately 1200 industrial staff and 500 Engineering / Technical staff who require personal protective products and protective footwear to be delivered to any Northern Powergrid location or have the facility for staff to collect from potential service providers trade counters or collection points. An internet web portal database, which will, as a minimum provide the facility to: — allow permitted staff to view the approved / agreed product list and allow them to select items and delivery location, — be able to map a purchase approval processes onto your web portal, to ensure appropriate authority is given prior to the order being accepted and delivered, — provision of consolidated monthly invoices in conjunction with any management information required. It is envisaged that the Contractor will be required to hold sufficient stock to maintain a 98% delivery service at first pick with maximum 48 hours lead time. Northern Powergrid Limited has approximately 160 product lines (not including individual size variations) with approximate volumes ranging from 1 through to 4500 per annum, equating to an approximate annual spend of 1 600 000 GBP per annum in total.
