Tender description

Northern Powergrid Limited, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy (BHE), is proposing to invite companies to enter a tender process for the supply, installation and ongoing management services for Auto Vehicle Locate (AVL). Northern Powergrid Limited uses the Achilles Utilities Vendor Database (UVDB) as a Qualification System. Supplier's interested in this potential opportunity must be registered with the UVDB in order to receive details from Northern Powergrid Limited. Suppliers can access the UVBD from the following link https://www.achilles.com/community/uvdb/. Suppliers should register with the UVDB for codes relating to telemetry and vehicle tracking. The deadline for registering with the UVDB is 7.8.2018. The purpose for the installation of the AVL technology is to improve safety, support legal compliance, improve operational efficiency, provide situational awareness and improve dispatching, reduce emissions, improve fuel efficiency, reduce idle time and reduce fleet maintenance expenses. The commercial solution will be comprehensive to include hardware devices, installation, removal, digital data upload, a hosted web-based application for reporting and mapping. A published programmer’s interface is also required that can be used to query and retrieve data from the hosted system via API's. Integration services will provide the ability to request and receive data from Proposer’s hosted system in or as close to real-time as possible for access and use by Northern Powergrid Limited.. It shall be required that existing data shall be maintained and transferred to any new system, so that a single source may be used for historical reporting. Northern Powergrid has a fleet of approximately 800 commercial vehicles ranging from (but not exclusively) cars, car derived vans, 4x4 pick ups, commerical vans and heavy commercial vehicles.
