Self Directed Support Service

Tender description

Wiltshire Council is seeking to commission a new Support Service for people wishing to access or in receipt of Direct Payments. This new service will ensure that a person centred approach is undertaken at all times which promotes the independence of customers, the achievement of outcomes and a reduced dependency upon statutory services. The Provider who is successful in bidding for this service will be able to ensure that Customers are encouraged and enable to be innovative and creative in terms of how they meet their outcomes. Currently there is an under developed market in Wiltshire with a limited range of support services available. As a result the Council has decided to block contract this service for a 3 year period (with a possible extension of a further two years) during which time the development of the market will be reviewed. The Council is looking to build a relationship with the Provider that is based on trust and openness and where this occurs will devolve greater responsibility to the Provider that will enable them to develop their service to the benefit of the Customer.
